'39-'41 HD tail light

I'm in the process of assembling one of these and need some info on what to make the gaskets between the lenses and housing from. I've been told to use every thing from paper to rubber or to use the aftermarket rubbers from the aftermarket tail light assemblies. This tail light is an oem without the small clips and external screws. It has the cross bar and the internal wire spring retainers.
Any help or info out there? Ron

The best gasket is the original H-D gasket from a mid 70s "hamcan" air cleaner housing. Virtually identical to the original gasket!
