metric drill gauge

I searched diligently, but the only metric drill gauge I could find is sold by Rutland Tool. After waiting over a month, it arrived today. The numeric information showing hole size is lightly engraved on a plain steel plate. Other in drill gauges in my shop are painted black with white numbers, and are easy to read.

Does anyone know of a metric drill gauge that is easier to read and less prone to rust than the one sold by Rutland?

Sorry but no. You could make your own though. A box of small metal stamps and a set of metric drill bits will do it for you. I would use a mild steel for a gauge block. It will drill through more easily. Lay out the block in lines. Automatic center punch the locations for each drill bit. Drill them all out with each metric drill bit. Use a drill press ! Stamp the identifications of each hole. DONE ! Pain to do, but works. Paps
