  • Do It Yourself Tools for Rebuilding Harley-Davidson Springer Front Ends

Here's a few simple tools I designed for rebuillding Harley-Davidson springer front ends. They eliminate the need for a hydraulic press:

I am not sure if I have ever had the springer on my '48 apart. I would have had to have something like these...maybe it's always been together.

All you need is a vise and a scoket to do the job.

There's always room for one more tool, Jim!

This one compressess the fork even when installed.

It's always nice to make special tools, but also a good idea to label them so you'll know what it's for when you find it in the bottom of a cardboard box 10 years from now I use my drill press, and a special plate I made to compress the spring fork so I can get the nuts on.

              Eric!

The worst problem I have with making special tools is that when I go to hang it on the wall, I find I already made one.
