    Factory truing stand question?

Good day lads, I have a factory truing stand that I've never used. My question here is the hardware that came with it. The shaft that sits on top the stand has a shoulder on it that fits tight in the spindle on the brake side of the star hub. On the other side, all it has is a nut that screws on and cinches up against the thrust bearing sleeve. I thought about making a tapered cone to slide on that end but see no reason since the thrust bearing can move where ever it wants anyway. So boys, am I missing hardware here? Thanks, Bob L

Thanks, Rob. Len, I don't use the rod because of the scratch the rim thing. I just set up two dial indicaters. Bob L
