Just thought I would write a quick intro about myself as I am brand new to the group. My name is Chad and I am located in Rapid City, SD. Like a lot of you, I have been into motorcycles since a young age. As a little kid growing up in the 70’s I remember seeing the older neighbor kids riding around their dirt bike. I knew at that moment I was hooked! Over the years I’ve owned many motorcycles and as I had gotten older my affinity for older motorcycles has grown stronger and stronger. For the last 20 years I have been drawn to old Harley’s but just recently bought my first antique Indian. I have a friend that is also into antique motorcycles and encourages me to join. I’m excited to meet others and learn from their experiences with these old machines. It’s wonderful to have a community like this that focuses on antique motorcycles!
    Thank you,
    Chad

When I was 11 or 12 I got hooked too. Behind the local fruit stand an older kid was riding a Hodaka Dirt Squirt. It was loud and smoky and I knew then I had to have a dirt bike. Sadly I’ve never had a Hodaka though I still appreciate them but soon after I got a Yamaha DT175. Been on 2 wheels ever since.

            Chad,

For many of us, it has been a lifetime of interest and involvement. For others it may be all new but embedded in their thoughts for a long time. Either it's a commonality we all share.
            Welcome!

Welcome Chad! Rapid City is a good place to be as Jerry Greer Indian is less than an hour away in Deadwood! The Black Hills chapter is having a National Road Run in September. Not sure if its sold out yet but if not its a great opportunity to meet folks especially being the host chapter is so close. Cheers!
