Hello all, little did I know when I bought my first Harley new in 79 that it would be considered an antique today. This past summer my 27 yr. old son and I were able to ride together at Maggie road run with him on my 79 and me on a 50EL. What a great time we had together, thankfully he's hooked on old bikes!

What brought me here is the wealth of information that I'm thankful to be able to draw on, and hopefully at times help someone else.

Welcome to the forum. I also have a 50EL. A project I hope to have completed in a couple of years. Would love to see pics of yours.

Thanks Paul, I'm actually from Pa. so a member of the Allegheny chapter. Whenever I figure out how to post pics, I'll be sure to do it. Much better with wrenches than computers.

Bob, I've come to really love my 50. I'll try to get some better pics up of it, first experiment down below. Have to figure out how to get larger pics.

Welcome Dan. Great picture. It's nice having a son that rides with you. My dad and I used to ride and wrench together and it's a great memory.

Thanks 47 Chief, hoping one of my boys can stop by to explain the pic thing, thanks for blowing it up for me. It's a great time wrenching and riding together, especially watching him master the kick start foot clutch side of things.

                Welcome OP48,
I love my 48FL, and built a 1975 BMW R90/6 for my father when he retired many years ago. He and I rode everywhere together, some of the best memories I have of him (and there are many). He passed a decade ago, and rode until the last couple months of his life. He loved that old Beemer, and I have been riding my Pan for 53 years now! That's really what this sport is all about, sharing our passion for these old machines with the people that we love.
                Enjoy !

Nice to hear you have great memories with your dad on bikes, both my boys ride and we get together as much as possible.

Here are a couple pics to see of the 50 and 79.

Hello Daniel, greeting's from the AMCA Forum. You brought up some fond memories, as I used to ride with my Father and brothers. Those are some fine looking machines!
