Restored a 1948 Indian Chief that my dad bought in 1966 for $150. He gave it to me in 1992 after I had my first son. It’s been stored in my shed since then waiting to be restored. Finally pulled it out in October of 2021 to see what I could do. I’ve never worked on a motorcycle before but thought I’d give it a shot. Along with a good body man, a great engine mechanic and lots of internet research I’m pretty proud of what I accomplished. Hoping to go to an AMCA show and have it judged to see what I need to improve. Looking forward to see everyone’s bikes.

Welcome dcarda! That's a pretty cool story about your father gifting it to you, and from the pictures it looks like you did a top notch job restoring it! You just have to ride it!

Welcome to the forum. Wow great job bringing the Chief back to life. So cool that it has the family sentimental aspect as well. I know its hard to ride a fresh restoration, especially if you plan to take it through judging but the best experiences by far is riding these nostalgic machines as often as possible, and I'm sure your dad would approve of that!
