Hi everyone. Great to be here. I love Harleys and old Harleys even more. I was first introduced to the motorcycle world by my wife's family about 10 years ago when my mother in law let me borrow her 1988 883 sportster, so I could ride her daughter out to Sturgis. I have been hooked every since. Her father rode out with us on a 58 panhead. Needless to say, I learned a LOT about Panheads on that trip. He had 1 saddlebag for oil and spare parts and 1 saddlebag for tools. Being a mechanic I fell in love with Panheads and the fact that you either had to know how to work on your own bike or hire a mechanic to follow you around. I have always dreamed of owning an old Panhead, but thought is was just a pipe dream. Then I was just recently gifted an original paint 1965 Panhead Electra Glide from a dear friend. I am looking forward to years of bloody knuckles and late night cussing sessions spent cherishing the old beauty.

Welcome. It must have been quite a ride two-up on an 883. I had an 86 and I could only handle an hour ride with my ex on back. Fun solo machine though. Your 65 is a milestone bike as you know, can you post any pictures?AMCA #41287

It was quite a ride. You only had mirrors for the first 10 miles and then they were pointing at the ground. You also had to hit every gas station along the way. That was ok though, it was time for a break after 80 miles. Here are some pics of the 65.You do not have permission to view this gallery.
