Wow Nice bike. Is it original paint? Sure looks like it. 40 was my first Knucklehead almost 45 years ago.

Must be a higher serial number because it has the late 1940 cam cover. Jerry

Yes it's a orginal paint machine. I'm not sure about the cam cover the vin is 25xx . Just starting to get my hands dirty. I'm looking for a usable front fender.

Nice bike to say the least. MAYBE if that is a correct 49 front end try to find a CORRECT 40 and work deals from there. Or say the heck with that and leave it as found.

Yo! from upstate Noo Yawk! It seems my Ural purchase didn't scratch the itch enough for an old bike....so now I'm here to know what I don't know.

                            2009 Ural 2WD Patrol. Syracuse.

I sold the dirt bike, thinking off-roading with the Ural would scratch that itch and having an old school bike.

                            But I desire a '40's bike.

Plus I have the Harley disease of constant upgrades on my '16 Ultra Limited tourer.
