When speaking of the motors, "carb" (or "carby" among many Australians and New Zealanders) is shortened from 'carburetor' (spelled 'carbureter' in earlier use, and continued by the British).

We all love our carbohydrates indeed...

I translated the typo and understood him, but also carbohydrates are pretty good judging from my waist line! I prefer to keep the carburetors running, like I should do.
