  • Hello From Florida Between St. Pete & Weeki Wachee

    Hello To All,

I am happy to be a part of this community. I would like to
properly understand more about the July 20,21,22 event
to be held at the Fulton Co. Fairgrounds in Wauseon, Ohio,
    www.wauseonnationalmeet.org
Is this event organized by the management of the A.M.C.A.,
or by a member chapter, or combination, or...? Thank you
very much to whoever can set me straight!
    Jack

I believe that it is put on by the Maume chapter and the Lake Erie chapters of the AMCA.

Welcome to the AMCA, Jack. Good to have another Floridian here. What makes, and vintage of motorcycles are you interested in?

The Wauseon National Meet is presented by five AMCA Chapters: Lake Erie, River Valley, Maumee Valley, Wolverine and Ohio Valley. A planning committee comprised of members of the five Chapters plan and coordinate all that happens at the meet.
We provide a meeting place for the Chapter Presidents meeting and Town Hall meeting, hosted by the AMCA Board of Directors, at no cost to the AMCA.
About 100 volunteers work their tails off at the meet to insure that you have a good time while there.
Harley Panheads is the theme this year and we expect a large number to be on hand.
          Best regards
          Fred Davis, Chair, Wauseon Committee.

            Hello Fred Davis,
Thank you for the detailed answer to my curiosity question.
I am hoping to attend this one starting July 20. I have a cousin
who resides to the east of the Fulton Co. Fairgrounds about a
            25 mile drive.

            Hello Eric Smith,
Thank you for the welcome. I must say that I find all the antique
motorcycles to have their own very attractive aspects. I mean that
I really like the looks of the those from about 1919 and earlier be-
cause of how they so much resemble bicycles with motors, then
start to look slightly "beefed up" as we examine those built closer
            to 1919.
I also like the looks of those that have clearly transitioned com-
pletely into true motorcycles, from 1920 more or less, and newer.
I feel HENDERSON "knocked it out of the park". And, how can any-
one ignore the fact that Harley Davidson has never stopped build-
ing motorcycles once they started in 1903? Indians are gorgeous
now, in the 50s, during the period that they were sporting inline
four engines, V Twins, or single thumpers! Cleveland, Thor, etc.
all "ring my bell" for one reason or another.
Being born in the very, very early 60s I have a love for the Honda
CT 70, aka Honda Trail 70, and the Honda ST 90 that will never
fade. I will have an ST 90 before I die!
Thank you for asking, and if I get to your area I'll PM you. It
might be within a few months.

            Hello Mark Masa and Paps,
Thank you both for joining this thread and sharing your ideas
            and info!

Hello Jack from Florida - Welcome and yes this is a community as you mentioned. Hope you were able to travel and enjoy Wauseon and if you did attend I hope you had an opportunity to meet Fred Davis who answered your "Meet" question. Let me know if you need any help here on the forum. I moderate the forum but the members are so well behaved that I look like the Maytag Repairman sitting around with nothing to do.You will notice that the forum is actually an aggregate of many subforms and you can find more breed specific discussion in the many forums or general discussion in Parking Lot Chatter. One of my favorite forums is the "Bike Build" forum that has threads following a member's project to build or restore a bike. Great stuff.

                Hi Mike,

Thank you for the nice welcome! I wish I could have gotten myself to WAUSEON,
but alas, it was not to be.

Might you FIX my my erroneous "Thumb Down" icon two posts up please? Obviously
I intended it to be a "Thumb UP".

                Much appreciated,
                Jack
