    Davenport?

Hope Davenport isn't a dirty word on this forum, Folks...

But since its the only significant meet in my region,
I'll be there at my usual booth (opposite the little white schoolhouse "museum" near the race gate),
and again offering a bounty of $5 for well-used (but not chromed) Big Twin and Chief drum sprockets.

I'm still shy of enough for a folding security grid across my storefront windows.

    Hope to see you there!

PS: Rumor is that they are planning a showing of the Indian Wrecking Crew documentary movie, with the soundtrack band performing live as well, with Bill Tuman and Bobby Hill present in honor, on Thursday night!

    Hey Cotton,

I just noticed you're from Central Illinois (yeah I'm a bit slow). I'm from the Mansfield / Mahomet area. Would I be out of line asking what general area you're from? Perhaps we can meet in Davenport. Are you on the corner or down the row a bit?

      Steve!

My shop is a half-hour up-river from Peoria.

My booth is next to the end on the promenade to the race gate, with seedy cafe umbrellas.

      No BT drum sprockets?

        Hi,

I do have at least one old HD BT rear drum sprocket I can donate to your cause. See you next weekend.

          Steve!

Although I have accepted donations, I will still pay the bounty of course.

                Thanks, and apologies...

Many thanks to those who brought me well-worn sprockets, Folks!

And apologies to the rest that I greatly under-estimated the demand for my floats, and sold out so early.

(I thought the market was "saturated", honest.
But it seems that the competitors' have their "chickens coming home to roost", if that old homily still makes sense.)

Nonetheless, the fantastic weather made for an enormously successful gathering, and everyone was smiling, or at least those that still can, anyway. Strangely free to leave the booth, I made many new friends, and enjoyed myself for a change.

So many thanks to all again,

                ....Cotten
