  • Got my hands on a bunch of transmission parts

Basically I bought out a closed business inventory. This guy built 3 and 4 speed transmissions as well as 3 speed 45 solo and servicar transmissions. I am interested in building the 45 transmissions so I'll be selling the big twin stuff. Main thing is an OEM early 4 speed case and top cover as well as what I think are repop new and old style cases never been used. They don't have any casting numbers. I also have seals and gaskets. Some gears and assorted shims but I'm not sure what the ones not in packaging are for. it'll take me a while to sort it out. I've only picked up half the parts. My truck couldn't handle any more than that. Just when I retired I got sucked into being employed again.

    UPDATE

Not much interest here but I've sold off a bunch of the big twin stuff on other forums. I've built my first 45 solo transmission and put it in my bike as a test mule. To say it's a rousing success is an understatement. Everything brand new. Actually sucks itself into every gear. I've never had a gearbox behave so well. I've got an advance order for 2 from a builder. Should start on them tomorrow and will try to get several build as I'm going on the swap meet circuit soon. Wish me luck. This should be fun stuff.

My Uncle always says "the first thing you should do when you retire is get a job". I'll let him know he's got 1 convert at least!

      Good luck & enjoy!

If you're married, your wife always has a job for you.
