  • I' m putting this here because I'm not sure where else too

I have been trying to pay my dues for a few weeks now. I got kicked out several times for various errors although I had corrected the issue pertaining to the previous error message. OK, I can call the office right? I called on three separate occasions. Put on hold for over 10 minutes the first time only to be told they were closed as my call came in after the prescribed business hours. I would understand that except I was calling several hours previous to the prescribed closing time which is is 5PM Central time.Second time I left a message. I got a call from a number, the caller ID said it was from a " survey company" I listen to the message as I do not answer such calls as a habit. The message stated the gentleman was from the AMCA and to please call him back. I promptly di so. I explained the above scenario to him and that I wished to pay my membership fees, his response? " "What Club are you with?" Immediately terminated the call. I did so because if he did not know he was with our club I didn't want him using my AMEX card to buy items for his girlfriends at Victoria Secret .I am certain this is all of my making for not keeping up with my passwords. I would like to know if anyone has had any similar experiences, or have I completely as my KIWI wife says "Lost the plot". Or if you have an alternate way for me to proceed I'd love to know.

I recently renewed on the club website and zero issues. So can't offer any help other than to say id does work. Is there a step you are missing?

I've had numerous password problems with the AMCA, Pete, but I suspect I'm seeing the problem every time I look in the mirror. Mike Love has always solved my problems but I do feel bad leaning on him. I always put the date next to a password as an aid. Doesn't do much good but it makes me feel responsible.

Thank You Fella's. I knew you would bail me. If all else fails I will stick a check in the mail.I hope you have a great New Years eve. The wife and I are going down to Eastport to watch the Lobstah drop at midnight!

I always renew by phone with minimal issues. Remember when the person asks what club you are with that the privately owned administrator handles many clubs.

Yes, I'm sure they have vendored this out to a company to handle. Or perhaps he meant to say "What Chapter?".

Thanks guys, finally got someone to answer the phone. I can't remember it being this hard in the past, maybe the folks they farmed it out too? Anyway JoJo hooked me ups with the number they eventually answered (Phone: (631) 870-3393) I got a three year membership this time. Hopefully I'll live that long! Now I got to work on my (Gulp, hard for a Blue Ridge Mountain hillbilly of North Carolina to say this) Yankee Chapter. Thanks again folks.

Thanks Paul, for taking time to post that info! I'm already a member. and need to renew. I have sent an email to the email address on the website to the membership link requesting payment information. I just belong because it's the right thing to do. The closest one is in Freeport,ME 4 hours away unless there is one in New Brunswick, Canada I am not aware of.

Eastport is about 25 miles southeast of me Paul. Actually, Canada is East of me, about 300 feet off my deck.Bangor is about 110 miles southwest of me. When I come down my driveway the clock in the truck clicks over to Atlantic Standard Time. We do the majority of our grocery shopping and eating out in Canada as our dollar is worth $1.40 CDN (same Lobster, Clams and Scallops). I don't know anyone around here with old bikes. Most of em around here appear to be what we used to call "Wished I wuzzez" and I wouldn't ride across the street with, never mind invite em into my shop! The missus and I are all paid up to the National for 3 years and the Yankee chapter for 3 years thanks for the help guys.

micmac - there are about 90 active members in Maine right now, but you guys sure are spread out! the different people listed in different places are our chapter ambassadors - kind of like local points of contact for local events. I do the membership for the Yankee Chapter. give me a call if you want. just sent you a private message with my number.
