It appears that the 6 volt battery used for this set up is discontinued. It was Eagle Picher CF-6V18. Does anyone know of a replacement battery to fit in the box?

I spoke with him at Rhinebeck last year and his boxes are really quite impressive. I'm just not sure that anyone has identified a tried and true replacement battery yet. If anyone has long-term success with one, please share.

    Bob!

His Richardson replacement used a flawless original that I found in an alley a few blocks from home.

Side by side, they are identical, except his comes apart.

I'm impressed with Geoff's battery boxes cast from old original 6v batteries. Geoff is a great guy to deal with and his craftsmanship is top shelf. I was originally looking for an old battery to try to make a box myself. I'm glad I didn't find one and found Geoff in Oley instead. He did all the dirty work and is doing us all a favor at a great price.
