  • Primary oil line

    Hello everyone,
I just purchase a 62 flh and just got it running. There is a metal line coming
from the inner primary cover, bends back towards the rear tire then there
is a section of rubber hose hanging in front of the rear tire .
I suspect this is the return back to the oil tank for the engine but
I cannot figure out where it is supposed to connect to.
Did did discharge a good amount of oil after the bike ran for
    a few minutes.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Karl

Karl, Some one put the rubber hose on the tube, it is not factory. This tube only drains the primary of any excess oil from oiling the chain. It's meant to just drain it on to the ground. The hose was just added to most likely drain it down further, so it avoided the tire. Bob L

      Hi Bob,
Thanks for the help! I have an owners manual for it and it describes
how to adjust the flow to the primary, I'll give of a try, it was dumping quite a bit of oil.
      Thanks,
      Karl
