I have had melt downs from loose intake manifolds, and have noticed the front piston is much worse then the back. My question is has anybody tried taking out the front case baffles where the rod comes thru and gotten better oiling in the front cylinder?

The baffles offer stiffening for the cases, and increase the upward flow of oil mist to the front cylinder and piston.
It is far easier to re-condition the manifold!
