    Does anyone have a shop manual & parts man. for a recently purchased Ariel Square 4 basket case?

    Need to know but I can help with copies for most of the above models

      It would be a big help if you could post or PM the engine VIN number.

        Steve,
        All Carleton really needs to post is the 2 letters that precede the engine number and the 2 letters that precede the frame number.
        The frame number is on the casting at the top of the seat post tube just behind the rear of the petrol tank.

          Peter, Aren't the tranny numbers somehow also traceable back to the frame number? Or do they just depict a particular year?

            Steve, I've got the codes for the month and year of the gearbox and I do believe that a code exists that tells the model the gearbox was fitted to but I don't think anything exists that links a gearbox to a specific bike.
            A to M with I excluded give you the 12 months of the year
            M 51 = December 1951
            B 48 = February 1948
            and so on.
