My better half wanted a model of her 2009 Superglide. But the only way to make it was to combine a couple of kits.... and it worked! Used a Lincoln Mint Sportster kit and a Lincoln Mint Springer Softail kit... put them together and presto. Superglide for Jacque's desk.
As a result, I have enough leftover parts to build a Sportster w. a custom Springer Front end!
It will take a bit of 'ciphering' to put the kits together. But the scales are right. And even though it took some head scratching for me, the result was quite satisfactory. But if anyone has a son, daughter, grandchild, etc. who is into modeling (that's what got me started in this insanity)... drop me a PM and I'll send you the kit(s) for free.
Who knows, maybe building a custom miniature and figuring out what goes where in scale will inspire some future vintage bike fan.
