New Zealand earthquake tragedy

Does anyone have any news if Mike Tomas was affected by the earthquake tragedy?

Mike lives in America, but hopefully if he has family in the Christchurch area they are OK, along with any other AMCA members and their families! All residents of the area for that matter!

Thanks for the thoughts.
It's bad, real bad, with a serious ammount of people unaccounted for.
It is thought that most of those missing are probably trapped under buildings somewhere.
America has sent a couple of specialist recovery teams and on behalf of all Kiwis I thank you for that.
I've volunteered my services to assist a mate with an electrical business so at least one of his staff can attend to personal matters. I'm just waiting for the call.

Invercargill is about 350 miles from Christchurch and has not been affected directly. And besides, Burt is long gone and living people are suffering, so who really gives a crap about it! Life is short and stuff is just,.. Well, stuff!

Yep, sure wish them all the best. I have corresponded with a couple AMCA members down there, very good folks. Graeme Williams as helped me out in the past, again very nice folks. Graeme is in the last issue of the club mag on his Henderson, hope he is well - lives in Invercargill. Wishing you and your country the best in these difficult times Tommo.

Chris,
A national state of emergency has been declared and all focus is on Human Life and trying to save it. Material things are the furthest from our minds at present.
My brother in law and sister in law have lost everything but thankfully they still have their lives.
I'll be off here for a few days as I do my small bit to try and help those who are worse off than me.
To all others once again thanks for your thoughts in what is being described as New Zealand's Darkest Day.

I understand completely as I live in earthquake country. During the last big one here I had over $250,000.00 in damage to home and belongings. Thankfully no injuries and I had insurance. Many things were lost that can never be replaced. But I guess that is just stuff.
