I have heard nothing good about the new leadership of the AMA. On some of the other forums on the internet, many of the AMA members say they will not renew their membership.

It is kinda strange right now. I think they are trying to be too upscale, and also more of a "recreational vehicle" organization.

Yes it does seem to be going down hill but on the bright side( if there is one) there is an article on page 30,31 about a 1914 pocket valve factory racer

Without passing judgement upon the AMA (I haven't enough un-biased info....)

It is horribly apparent that all kinds of motor companies, aftermarket producers, publishers, advertisers, etc. prey enormously upon nostalgia and heritage, without really giving anything back!

Think about it as you open your magazines, surf the web, etc.

A couple years back, I searched for the return of the AMA-sanctioned vintage dirt track races on the Va Peninsula (Saluda, Rte 17, the Joe Weatherly race). It's when I first discovered the upheave in the AMA structure and organization. I am sure the AMA org. is better for their changes, but we got no flat track racing around the Jamaicia track, though. It's the bottom line that counts!
