I put my Chief on my new shop lift for the first time, and tied it down via the handlebars at the front and also the front wheel clamp. But what about the rear (I'm thinking trailering, now). With a hardtail, the rear is so low that you really don't get much purchase with tie down straps.Suggestions?

Swal,
When I trailer my Model J racer, I just use a rachet tie down hooked low down on one side of the rear of the trailer. I then take the slack out of the tie down and wrap it around the rear of the tire a couple times at about axle level. Then just hook the other end of the tie down on the other side of the rear of the trailer and use the rachet to take the slack out. Don't over tighten it! Holds the rear rear of the bike down nicely.David Morrill
