  • 2011 Membership Card

I received my cheapo paper 2011 Membership Card today. I guess they just don't make enough money from our dues to give us a decent card. Maybe it is German paper.

Not going to keep well in my wallet, either. Wonder if it can be grafted onto plastic. Wonder if the 3-yr card would have been plastic.?
The first time my sweaty paws have to dig this out, it will probably come out in pieces.

They could be laminated for next to nothing. Probably any Kinko's type store could do it.

Are they still sending notices in the magazine to pay our dues? When do they need paid by? Where do I go on-line to pay? Thanks. Bob#6738

I think I saw it printed somewhere that if you renew for 2 years you get a plastic card, if that's a big deal. I'm satisfied with a paper card for the yearly dues of a paltry $30. Hell, I've got a paper social security card and I've paid them in the hundreds of thousands over the years.

You can buy laminating film at most office supply stores.....when you laminate your card might as
well lmainate a dollar bill to frame before they become worthless also

No big deal $2.00 to laminate it at the u.p.s. store. What I don’t understand is why the AMF (AMCA Foundation) can’t make it though one magazine edition without asking for donations. If the museum is a constant drain why have it.

My 2010 mebership card is a crumbled piece of Crap from carring it around all year & I suspect the 2011 will fair as well, The part that sucks about it is that I have been displaying my older membership cards in a frame for years & the are all impressive looking high quality, colorful cards, with great pictures on them, now I have this GHETTO looking piece of paper next to them.
I friend of mine who is not into bikes was over the other day to have a few drinks & was looking at my stuff hanging on the wal & saw the "NEW" card hanging there next to the old ones & asked me what happen to the 2010 card & why it looked so bad, he then asked if the club was running out of money to keep up it's establashed standards. I told him I don't know why they changed it. Still don't, other than to try & get 3 years dues in advance & holding the plastic cards ransom for $ 90. I guess this is called "PROGRESS?"

What is it that "THE AMCA Foundation" need Donations for ? I thought it was set up so if someone WANTED to donate bikes to the club the could through the foundation as per the IRS, not to activly BEG for money???

I got a reply from cornerstone that the new plastic cards will be made and mailed after the first of the year.
