Still gross. Hard to read and it's too bright. It was perfect the way it was. This format sucks.

Paps, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
I got that too, last night. You have to re-register, using your original sign on and password, if you remember it. Then the forum acts just like the old one, to that point. It has no "content" connected to it, yet. Whatever you click on, you just get the skeleton outline of the forum. They're still at work. Or engaged in something. If it ends up looking, and working like this place, I think I'm done with it.

As best I understand it from our tech guys - we had to update and reload all the software again so Google can scan it to make sure no more viruses there. After that we then need to re-skin the forum to give it the same look as before. Dont' really understand all this stuff, but it sure it taking a lot of time and resourses to get it back up and running.

Sorry to all for this but we are working as hard as we know how to get it fixed and back up and running as soon as possible. Perhaps be up and functional in a day - I hope.

Keep up the good work! It's made me realize I spend way too much time on the computer. It's like not having your cell phone for a few days.

Only cost $200 to have my wife's computer fixed. She lost half of what she had, which was a shotgun blast across the whole system. She'll have to reload most of her programs; she's a Realtor. Half the data is gone. Had to put in a new hard drive and upgrade to Windows 7. bummer

To bad you changed the hard drive ! It could have been formated and all of the lost data could have been saved with the correct tool program. If you still have the old hardrive, take it to a pc guru who can retrive your wifes data. I own a program called "Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery" which has saved my data before for me. The software cost me around 100 bucks and was well worth it. You can use the software over and over again but only in one computer. You need an additional drive to send the retrived data to. I use a 50 dollar 350 gig external usb plugin drive for this. Paps

My previous post was intented for you also. I was able to completely format my hard drive and run my backup windows disc to reboot my pc again. Once I did that...I ran the program I mentioned previously. That program retrived all of my data from a completely formated hard drive. Now ya all know why the law takes computers away during a raid. They can get all of the data out of it.

Is it normal you have to log in to the caimag site before you can do anything now? Is this part of the new site protection?

I just did a google search for the CAIMAG and today is the first time since the virus attack that Google didn't list it as "this site may harm your computer"

Does this mean google has scanned the site and has deemed it safe? I haven't been to the site since it has been attacked.

Dont worry about it any more, Tomcat. The site has been completely redone, totally new; new software (same tools as this place) incorporating all of the latest safeguards. It's safe as any stretch of Al Gore's wunnerful Internet Superhighway can be, these days.
If there's one thing the internet gurus are good at, it's closing the barn door after the horses have all taken flight, or to put it in military terms, "Being all prepared, through hindsight, to fight and win the last war!"
