    America loves its outlaws, but few of us actually dare to live the lifestyle. Veteran LIFE photographer Bill Ray got about as close as anyone, riding along with a notorious biker gang.

        Very interesting thanks for the link!!! Those were the days when you'd see an "outlaw" on a Sportster!!! I can recall as a youngster during the late '70's watching lines of those guys riding two abreast. It left a big enough impact on me that I knew I had to have a Harley when I got bigger!!!

          When I first went to the LIFE MAGAZINE ARCHIVES a year or so ago I saw all of those photos and many more. Strangely there were some noticeably missing this time. There ware several pictures taken on the run and in front of the diner in Bakersfield that showed Ed Roth. All of the Roth photos are now missing from their archives.

            Chris, that would have been a cool shot with Roth. They don't make them like him anymore......
