            from http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/ind...t01returnid=97
"The biggest news was that Buzz Kanter, who was one of the ride's leaders just a couple of days ago, has made the difficult decision to pack up and head for home. Kanter parked his 1915 Harley two days ago after it developed a knocking noise. He got the machine back on the road yesterday, only to have the magneto fail. This morning, Kanter noted that multiple problems with the machine, together with family issues back home in Connecticut, made him decide to leave the ride."

The CAIMAG forum still comes up on a Google search, but shows a warning that "This site may harm your computer". I also Googled "American Iron Magazine", which did not show the warning, but the entire site is down. Presumably just the forum is infected.

All our sites got whacked with infections - www.aimag.com, www.caimag.com and www.roadbikemag.com. Our IT crew is all over it and hope to have this fixed and back up and running soom. And we are adding more safety software to try to keep this from happening again.

The virus that I picked up is a 'Google Redirect Virus', a trojan horse which causes the Google search results to redirect the browser to malicious sites, which appear as unwanted advertising, but from which trojans and phishing attacks are launched. It also prevents you from going back to the Google when you hit the 'Back' button. It effects all browsers, IE, Firefox, and others. I've been trying to solve this problem all morning, with no luck. Apparantly, when this nasty virus discovers a malicious software removal tool is working--- there are many available,, even Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool-- it shuts itself down and 'hides'-- also prevents the removal tool from functioning by shutting it down, too. This little bastard is nasty! I downloaded STOPzilla, which was a recommended software for ferreting out trojans, and it did discover what it identified as 32 trojans in my computer! Unfortunately, it could not deal with this one. Luckily, my son is on the Best Buy Geek Squad, and he's coming over tonight with his high-powered professional tools to see what he can do. If he fails, the only option is to reformat my hard drive and reload Windows and all my programs. Might end up doing that anyway...
I know how this happened to me, and it's a goofy story---- last Sunday, somehow the USB drivers that control my keyboard got corrupted, and I could only enter Windows in Safe Mode. Antivirus and firewall programs do not work in Safe Mode, but internet connection does. I did some searching as to the reason for my keyboard problems, and while on the internet I visited my favorite sites--- CAIMAG, of course one of them. So there I was, on the internet without protection. Yeah, I know, dumb move.....!

We got nailed over at FHP a good one once. The perpetrator added redirect code into a photo they had posted. It took many an hour to find the code and remove it all. Paps / Pa

I am told the www.caimag.com site should be back up and running sometime Monday. We have added to the defenses against virus attacks.
