  • Saddlebag Identification

Hello everyone, this set of bags came with my '48. Any ideas of time frame?

    Thanks, Paul

Thanks Paquette, I'm assuming that a place like Worsham leather can restore them?

        Wingnut,
Are you trying to restore this bike? If so just have Michael make you a new pair of correct 1948 bags. If you are just going to ride it spruce up these bags and hit the road.
The bags you have are for a Knucklehead as they have five mounting holes in the plates. 1948 bags have only four holes in the plates.

Wingnut--Chris as usual has great advise. I cannot tell the condition of the bags unless they are in my hands but bags from that era, as the ones you have, can be restored but more often than not, they will be just for show as the leather is just too tired ( as are most of us, LOL) to be of any real use on the road. In 1948 you had the 4 hole Locktite style or the new King size bag that had the western style buckles. Not to be a shameless ad but I do make both. If interested just give me a call---Michael--6671
