Just back from Pebble Beach and the World reknown Concour d'Elegance there. This was their 60th year, and they celebrated by requesting American made motorcycles! A great selection was displayed, and top honors went to Mike Madden with his '15 Henderson. Second place went to Steve Huntzinger with his '15 Excelsior. Both these guys rode their bikes on the special 75 mile tour for the Concours entrants, and Steve will be riding this award winner on the Cannon Ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Third went to that tasty new Crocker that has recently hit our judging fields, out of New Oreans. There was also a hotly contested American Racing catagory, won by Tom Hensley with the Burt Monroe Special; Worlds Fastest Indian. Dale Walksler took 2nd & 3rd with his one-off OHV Harley, and a tasty Reading Standard.
The bikes were a big hit on the lawn this year. Look for motorcycles to be even more of a part of this distinctive setting in the future. It's good to see our machines recognized and hailed for the artistry they really are. Pebble Beach encourages the use of it entrants, and thus the 75 mile tour, and the huge emphisis on original paint vehicles.
