  • Case repair

I just had my 1947 Knuck cases repaired by Phil. Phil is the guy who reproduces the Knuck and Panhead cases. Here are before and after photos. The secret to case repair is finding someone who knows what to do and how to do it.

That's nice work, Chris. I need to get ahold of Phil and see if he can do anything for my wasted right-side case.

the other secret to case repair is finding someone who makes the replacement chunk that was blown out and welding it in for you. does he make any piece you need for case repairs?

If he's reproducing Knucklehead and Panhead case's, I'd assume he has any piece someone would need. Nice work.

I would be curious to know what caused that explosion in the first place.

Eric, If I had to point a simple finger at. Alcohol and a lot of it. The cost of being dysfunctional is plain and simply going though the roof. Bob

Please let us know how the line-honing for the mains goes for you.

Tom Shaw at Creekside does a nice job too. Repaired some '48 FL cases of mine with the rear motor mount completely gone. www.creeksidemc.com

You may want to give him a call. I think I read in his ad on ebay, that he doesn't do right sides as of yet, but they are in the works.

Bob, do you mean alcohol in the fuel tank, or alcohol in the operator...??

Chris, I will get ahold of him. Even though I have replaced that trashed right-side case, I will see if Phil can work his magic on it. It would be worthwhile, no doubt...
