As long as you state that you are willing to drive a long distance, I would highly recomend Carl & Matt Olsen at Carls Cycle Suppy in Aberdeen South Dakota. These gentlemen are THE premiere Knucklehead Specialists in the the world period . They just finished up 36El1005 and completed 36EL1002 some time ago. If people that have the jack to own such priceless bikes such as these patronize the Olsens you absolutely can't make a mistake here.
http://www.carlscyclesupply.com/ If you care to give me a call I would be happy togive you some eye popping personal testimony on these two fine gentlemen.

      knucklehead shop

      Keith,

As we spoke on the phone the other day I would recommend Paul at American Cycle Fabrication. I'm sure there are others that we also spoke about closer but none that I would use especially if you don't want t be stuck on the side of the road. Paul has worked on two of my knuckles and both start and run great. Paul is also easy to get along with as is Barbra his wife and Joel the other guy in the shop. You won't be disappointed with the results.

        Virginia?
Call Opie. Close and reasonably priced. He's just north of Durham in Rougemont.

        Excellant mechanic.
You can not go wrong with him.
I have known him for more years than I can count and I have seen him do some pretty amazing stuff.

          Keith,

I would also concur on Opie. He is a pretty good friend and excellent wrench but last time I spoke with him he was way busy. He just quit working at the HD shop in Burlington NC to concentrate on his own shop but doubt of he is anywhere near caught up yet. Either you can call him or I can call him for you. It is about the same distance to either Opie of Paul.

I'll do it for free. Just ship it down to Texas and I'll rebuild the carb, check the tires and I'll probably need a couple months to ride it just to make sure it's otay! Hmmm.....anyone have a service manual I could borrow? If you need a reference, just check my latest blog at http://www.caimag.com to see what an expert mechanic I am.....

Opie Yaegar is an excellent wrench and trustworty as the day is long. I have known Opie for years and he is the man I am going to go through my motor and tranny for my 47WL. He is good as gold and his job at Davis H-D in Burlington ,NC was to keep all of Randy Davis' antique bikes in top shape. He has been H-D factory trained since the 1970's. Good man, quality workmanship--I consider him a friend and an asset!!!!!--Michael--6671--- Opie's cell is 919-452-8218

Just a "ditto" for Paul, Barb, and Joel @ American Cycle Fabrication. You'll be in good hands.
