I knew you Indian guys were cheap, but this is ridiculous. A water faucet handle as a steering damper knob???

              Chris!

I ran a Matheson gas bottle valve handle on my Pan dampener for a couple of decades.
Now its on my honing machine.

I have a stainless steel fermenter impeller on one of my '49s for a dampener knob.

I'd show you cheap, but I'm not sure you could handle cheap!

              ....Cotten
PS: I dug a Crocker dampener out of a dirt barn floor with a garden claw.

(my rules say I can't post replies, so trying quote)

My dampener was half broke, took the rest of the top off, now use pliers (from my pouch, riding gear), and my bars are where they need to be. Also used cheap $8 brake light switch with welding rod for connector.

                            Golly gee, Chris.

I can see why you figure using some recycled plumbing for a motorcycle part instead of paying a dealer is cheap,
but how does hoarding some "petroliana" for decades turn it around the other way?

I'm so cheap, I bottle my de-humidifier water.
