  • 1929 Jdh

Anybody know how close the line bore numbers should be to the VIN number on a JDH? There is a JDH on ebay that has a vin of 29JDH11152, and belly number of 29-8281. That's almost 3000 different. Is that normal? (my knucklehead is only 85 different)
    Thanks!

My JDH motor has a line bore number 8211 which is very close to yours, the Vin number is about 2500 higher. So it’s probable that the two cam motors were built in batches that had a fairly long shelf life before they were used on the assembly line. I have a JDL which has a difference of only 300. The line bore numbers on the JDH have a gap of about 1. 1/4 inches between the year number 29 and the number.

Yep, that's the one. In Czech though... yikes. I am interested in finding one, but not in eastern europe. If you look at the bidding, you can tell it was shilled right up to just below his reserve. In fact, one guy hit the reserve, then retracted the bid. Little too shady. He also has some JD tanks on ebay. Hmmmm, wonder if this bike was a JD. Also, if you look at his feedback as a buyer, he has been buying parts that would be appropriate for 1929.
