Stumbled on this last week on TCM.
In the 1957 movie "The Happy Road" with Gene Kelly, there's an extended sequence where he and his female lead go on a chaotic ride on the luggage rack of a policeman's V-twin Rene Gillet.

You can't see it in the photo below, but at one point I could read the tank badge clearly. I don't know much about this make, but it looks like a 1930s style of motorcycle. It (if the recording was of the actual bike) doesn't sound like a deep V-twin, but more clattery like a vertical twin. But it sounds and looks cool! It's fun to see it darting around, running way off the road in the grass, etc.
I'll throw in another photo I found of this make.
If anyone knows how to fix the photos to make them larger, that is what I wanted to do -- did not want thumbnails.
