        AMCA logo

By what right or benefit can they use the AMCA Wing-ed Motor Wheel logo ?

In what manner does the AMCA sanction this Private {?} sale ?

Quote: "FREE shipping US Postal Service Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box"

Do they crush it like a Buell Blast to fit a medium size flat rate box? Or is it toy-sized?

              Howdy Chaps,

This machine will be showed at the AMCA National Meet in Rhinbeck NY

Unlike only 5,000 or so surviving Black Shadows out of the 1,500 originally produced, can't be too many "Tex's" rolling around these days so will be curious to see what the AMCA judges think of this one I sat looking at for nearly an hour at the Board Walk Chopper show in Daytona this year.

Why would you diss on him Robbie? If you like Honda choppers or whatever, it's not cool for me to make fun of you, is it? Try having something positive to say once in a while instead of trying to be funny at someone else's expense!

BTW... I don't know the guy, nor the bike for that matter.

I think some of the criticism is the result of confusion the creators of (this bike) (these bikes) left themselves wide open for. On the one hand, they narrate in detail the history or actual 1950 FL that an artist took some liberies with for the 1951 LIFE cover. On the other hand, they describe the bike as a replica of the bike as depicted on the magazine cover.
They're obviously not the same. The original bike apparently had the standard, commercially-available black aftermarket saddlebags. The artist changed them to brown.
So, which is it, a replica of the bike that was the model for the cover art, owned by a known character from Connecticut, or the bike depicted on the cover? It it was 2B the cover bike, it should have had specially-built brown bags, and a seat cover the color of the one on the cover (considerably trimmed by a competent poodle groomer!)
And, I also want to know, as Bill McClean brought up: where does the vendor of this this fantasy replica get his authority to use the Antique Motorcycle Club of America's logo on all of his advertising???
Is the bike to be raffled-off for the benefit of the club at Rhinebeck? That would be news 2me. Otherwise, the seller's using the club emblem without authority to sell a product, for no benefit accruing to the club. Why aren't Rocky and the club's Board of Directors all over this issue? {"Inquiring minds want to know.")

                            Howdy Louie/Robby,

Not my machine, I copied that judging line out of their post on EBay and the one in Daytona was, in the vernacular of SpeedVision and Barret Jackson a "tribute" bike, if you will. Know absolutely nothing about Pan's - except I'd take one, preferably dusty, if offered it - but do know our judging system can test the meddle of any restorer.

As for staring at this one for an hour, short story here. My crew always gets a house in south Daytona Beach which means running the guantlet of Bike Week traffic to go to/from anywhere, which after a week and a half leading up to the Board Walk Chopper Show that traffic now borders on insane Friday and Saturday. Have always ridden old crocks down there and the m.o. for these last two days is to get a 100 - 200 miles in early each morning, park it back at the house by 1pm and then ride a mountain bike the 5 miles up the beach to main st, drink beer and catch this and the Big Daddy Rat Chopper show. These two shows generally have a strong antique and Euro chopper builder presence, usually with an AMCA'r or two present to hang out with. For some reason the field was rather weak this year and it just so happened the only vacant bench to sit on and view the action was behind Tex.
