Roper's Steam-Velocipede

i always thought it was a very sexy bike? a lot more conventional than most that came after it. built 4 years after the end of the civil war. how can you not love this machine. i have always wanted to build one like it.

The c1869 Roper steam velocipde was a great landmark machine. Clearly a forerunner of the motorcycle. It certainly had a nice low center of gravity. It was also pretty well known at the time.

No popping wheelies though, or jumping rivers!

Trojan built engine test stand to funny Pusher.
The seat is the water tank so by the time he ran out of water he also ran out of comfort.
All Sylvestor wanted to do was "Ride his machne and not get hasseled by the man" (which the man did interupt his fun). He may have wanted to get loaded but we will not go there.
