Good grief, I'm still on dial-up, and almost have a life too.

Gimme a break, and I'll respond directly in the proper forum.

      Thanks for the alert,

I just picked up two more rotary phones at the auction across the street with the cast iron toys (previous thread). I was bidding on an Archer grease bucket (Indian content) but the auctioneer tossed them on the pile.

One's already in service. That's four rotaries in the shop, and I can hear much, much better with them. But not all of them ring.

I can do smoke signals too.

I have a fond memory of throwing a sheet over the open barn loft window late at night, turning on the light, and then ringing a few for dinner on a woodburner as I needed them.

But there is little motorcycle content to that, although my machines were parked below.

Strange how some of the hardest times in life tasted so good.

                        Okay, I give up.

Why do my new rotary phones sound so great, but won't ring for incoming calls?

(echo Seinfeld: Not that that's a bad thing.)

                        Thanks for any clues,

The real question is: Should leave I them that way.
