The 101 scout is long gone, and the horse is catching that road oiler.

as much as I like Indians it'd be a blue moon in June when an anaemic 101 outruns a 29 JD

Legendary Harley-Davidson tuner Tom Sifton designed and prepared racing motorcycles for Sam Arena, Joe Leonard, Everett Brashear, and others. In a recorded interview, Tom told me: "101 Scouts cut such a swath, and Harley didn't have anything ready, so they put the two-cammer in a road frame in 'twenty-eight."

jeff likes all bikes, and has a good eye for some of the more important bikes in our history.now his only rule is ,he wont sculpt a bike unless the original is sitting in his shop.

So Jerry, are you saying those are Tom Sifton's exact recorded words " cut such a swath" ? Why do I find that hard to believe? Did he take creative writing at night school? Face reality Jerry, 101 Scouts are little old lady bikes!

By the way, today's my first look at the Indian in the Jeff Decker sculpture. The Indian looks like a Powerplus to me, which would make it at least 61 cubic inches.

Obviously the Scouts ruled the roost in the late '20's. Harley didn't get their 45" til '29 and it was nothing to rave about.

Scouts didn't rule the roost if you were on a two cam or a Super X. I wasn't referring to Harley's 45 which was even more pathetic than a 101.

Would a Two Cam and a Scout be in the same class?
