Indian Carb Mess!

I pulled the carb apart off of a Wall Bike that used to belong to Lion-Drome Rider Vonnie Pelaquin. It has sat for 40 years and will ride The Wall this spring! This is what I found in the float bowl. I assume something was living in it, but whatever it was it came in and out either through the nozzle or the fuel needle!

What kind of bike was it? I am looking at the intake manifold and I think I have one just like it.

Indian carb mess

Your experience with the carb reminded me of an experience a friend had a few years ago. His restored 1914 Indian twin was stored in his shop over the winter. In the spring when he went to start it he found the engine was seized. Upon removing the cylinder heads he found one cylinder packed with sunflower and bird seeds from his bird feeder in his yard. A mouse had come through the tail pipe, through the muffler, up the header pipe, through the open exhaust valve and into the cylinder countless times to accomplish this.
