  • Losing grip

Recently I had to remove a grip on a twenties style Indian spiral. I was taught to take the air nozzle with a rag covering the end and blow it off. The grip will start to vibrate and slowly slide off. The twenties style spiral has an open groove on the side. After a few minutes of trying to blow it off with no luck because the air was leaking out, I came up with an idea. I took a fist sized wad of electrician's duct seal and plugged the end with it . I hit the air nozzle and the grip shot off like a bullet. The dent it left in the wall was inches from my 1920's Bulova neon Harley-Davidson clock. Must be time to find an Indian clock.
