I'm not impressed, because I don't really know what an F 250 is.
(If its about autos, I don't care either!)
Meanwhile, back at the topic,
Some caustic oven cleaners darken aluminum as well, and probably cheaper than selenious acid.

Barry--You can build an enclosure (tent) out of plastic around the sidecar and place open containers of Muriatic acid inside and the fumes will patina the metal. I would do a test first of course but this is the method that I use to age Nickle plated spots and rivets and it works quite well. I left a container of the acid close to my 71 FL with the lid not quite on properly and It patinaed the whole damn left side!!!! --Michael--6671
