Calm down! - of my own free will I deleted my post. I enjoy the expressive nature of the English language but, after sleeping on it and re-reading what I wrote, I thought the words chosen were both more colourful and more incendiary than necessary so I deleted the post rather than add fuel to the fire. Unfortunately that act seems to have had an opposite effect. I apologize. In the future I'll try and avoid club politics and stick to technical topics (which is my usual haunt) ... Perry

Tommo - thank you for your support, but I must come to Rich's defence - his use of the term "cry-baby" probably originated from my deleted post which highlighted that phrase in a quote. I know Rich, I've been to his garage, I don't take it personally.

Indeed, one reason I deleted my post was because the bulk of the readers won't know me personally and hence may read more malice into it than was intended. Hopefully we can all leave this maelstrom behind us now ... Perry

          Egg on my face

Thanks for clearing that up Perry. Glad to hear this was a misunderstanding on my part. My apologies’ to the club for thinking that there was some type of back door dealings going on.

I'm with you Steve. I'm glad there is no "big" conspiracy deal, and I admire Perry for his sense of decorum. We have a great organization, and it's obviously a very tough club to have gone through some of things it's encountered.

where does one find that info? might be a good idea to let us all know so this doesn't happen again. and as far as the post goes Perry I think you should have left it as it made some interesting observations

                Re Cory, Point taken.

Point taken. I 'm not on here every week, and am happy to see we are over the confusion and retarding the spark, myself included. My best wishes to all for a peaceful holiday season. Brian.

If anything I posted in Perry's defence upset anybody I apologise.
When questions about the governence of the club are raised it is not unreasonable to expect an explaination and in doing so the board members would go a long way towards uniting the club.
Once again sorry for any offence I may have caused.

                      A simple Question

Taken from the summer 2009 addition of the club magazine.
My thoughts are if you’re asking club members for a $500.00 donation because an exhibit cost upwards of $50,000.00 to put on, how can I take you serious if you can’t answer this simple question. When the last exhibit ended, how much profit did the foundation make? Or are you going to keep putting on $50,000.00 exhibits until the foundation is broke because the club will bail you out?

Brian...... great way of putting things! I'm going to have to speak up and say that I may have jumped the gun with my comments. I really don't want to have anyone feeling offended by my postings. There is the odd sore spot with this club but for the most part it's a great organization with a lot of great people... oh and great old motorcycles too....

                            Spare $500.

Let me crack open the 'ol billfold here, gee, where'd that spare 5 bills I had kicking around go? Oh, yea.....guess I blew it trying to keep the old Pan on the road. Maybe I'll put a sign on it when I'm out riding that says it's running courtesy of my generous donation.
                            Doug.

PS, If anyone else wants to donate, I'll put your name on it too!

                              Museum Stuff

                              Ah, the Museum.
Like Pete Gagan mentioned previously on this thread; stay tuned. The Museum is strictly in the hands of our Foundation; a result of our non-profit/tax/lawyer situation, which actually transpired just as I climbed aboard.
The Board of the Membership elected not to fund the Foundation on this endeavor last meeting, as stated in the meeting minutes previously mentioned. That's about all we know. It's all up to the Foundation, operating as a separate entity on this one. Like the rest of us, we are "staying tuned" also. But the museum sure seems cool though.

Red Fred....... I assume that last bit was in reference to my post. I in no way meant to insult all board members as a matter of fact I should have taken a page from Perry's book and deleted my posts as well. I'm settling soundly into a frigid winter and maybe need to hibernate!

By the way I just read your story in the Laughing Indian Rider newsletter on the Scotland rally. Great stuff! Don sent me the YouTube teaser clip and I really got a kick out of seeing him cruise by on that beautiful Scout.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qx_WsKD_zc I've enjoyed reading about your travels for years. You seem to wander into some great adventures!!
