  • Schebler AMX carbs

I have recently come across a Schebler AMX 8 carb and would like to know what bike this would have been fitted to originally.
It's 1 1/8 inch bore and has the two screws that hold the removable plate onto the main body directly above the main jet nozzle.
Most AMX carbs I've seen don't have this plate and what is also interesting is that it is fitted with an air horn on the stem below the float bowl and this is not exactly what you would tend to expect on a racing carburettor
I know that AMX 6 and 13 are listed as Indian and AMX 12 as Harley-Davidson and Excelsior but can find no listing for AMX 8
    Anybody have any ideas please

The 'racing horn' you describe may be a common item.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
I was aware that Neale Gentner had posted that and was praying that somebody had a list hidden away somewhere that gave a definitive answer because as I understand it Neale doesn't know for sure what it was originally fitted to either.
