Don't know how many people here know Bob Coy or heard he was in a pretty serious accident on the road coming back from Barber last weekend, but here is a quick update.
Bob Coy, a great guy, is the man who runs the USCRA (United States Classic Racing Association) he's been active in the vintage motorcycle world since many of the bikes were new.
I just hung up the phone with him. Bob was in a van driving home from Barber to New Hampshire. Franks, the driver, lost control of his Sprinter van, went off the road, into and out of a ditch and smashed into a tree. Bob was sleeping at the time and he was were the impact was greatest. Bob blew out his shoulder, elbow and arm and is sitting in a hospital in Baltimore. The surgeons did their thing and, if all goes as planned, Bob will be discharged tomorrow to go home. Franks' Sprinter van is totalled. I guess it could have been worse.
