    Buell graduated the University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and was hired by the Motor Company around the same time the 1980 FLT hit the dealer showrooms. Hardly enough time to design it, much less R&D. He had a hand in the FXR and was responsible for anti-dive on the later FLT line, but the FLT was not his baby.
