Great time as always. I found what I needed & it was a beautiful partly cloudy day on Friday. I'm glad I caught a ride in a pickup this year, it did get wet & chilly Friday evening. The races were great. Any one have info on how the guy is that wiped out? He really took a tumble.
This was the biggest Wauseon meet yet, in my opinion. It might even rival Davenport.

my impressions of wauseon 2009

never seen more vendors nor have i seen fewer customers or cooler temps. it would help if the public wasn't clubbed $4 dollars to park in a field. i agree that the prices were still at pre recession levels in most cases. races were great, i really think they add much to the entire event. races -as entertaining as they were- are priced about $10 too much for the general public and about $15 too much for the vendors. powdered eggs for breakfast was a bad idea. more parts than i have seen in recent memory....if ya needed it it was here! some very nice bikes. grounds still need work (see pic of garbage can at the main gate) at least the cooler temps kept the stench down. openening the rest rooms at the far end of the grounds was a good idea, they were modern and clean! when i was a kid i rode mini bikes every day so i wish the PA guy would quit whining about kids riding motorized vehicles etc....yeah it's a potential accident -i get it- but so is gettin out a bed in the morning....thank God i have not forgotten what it was like to be 10 years old. in general great time for me and my buds, loved talking to other vendors and my customers, lots of great dogs and people. the high muckety-mucks in the club did an OK job of puttin the event on but there is always room for improvement.

It was certainly obvious from what I saw that the knuckles are the flavor of the month. Seemed to be twice as many knuckle heads as there where pan heads sitting around. I was thinking that a bad economy may help lower the prices of some of the parts I was looking for, I was wrong. Prices remain high. I also saw lots of haggling for parts but not many people where pulling out their wallets.

Oh, where to even start on the "Barn Fresh" '38! I only hope no one was foolish enough to bite on it. There is so much wrong the forum isn't big enough!!!! Buzz, you aren't serious are you??

that 38 knuck was about as "barn fresh" as i am---just got home---it was in a bullneck frame and had bogus looking numbers on it. after about 2 minutes i stopped looking at it there was so much incorrect stuff on it. maybe a $12000 bike tops

when that bike fired for the test laps it was exellent. it took a group of people pushing and a guy with a dirt bike to foot peg him at about 20mph. the poor guy from yhe history channel ran like hell with the tv camara following the best he could.but his best wasn't good enough.the bike fired mid turn one and dale was off and running.

Wish I could have been there to see the bikes and watch Dale Walksler run his DAH Harley.

Nice looking Knucklehead, doesn't seem like a lot of money for a running 1938 EL.

Just thought I’d post a couple photo’s I took at Wauseon this morning. I got soaked about fifty miles from the fair grounds but was nearly dry by the time I arrived. It was a beautiful mid summers day, today in Ohio.
