i just wish the money was going to bruce---glad i bought mine when they first came out. i wouldn't sell it for twice that and i'll probably never restore another military bike. i'm restoring a 53 dodge m-37 now

Bruce autographed my copy. But, he addressed it to me so I'm sure that killed it's value.

I'm still hoping to meet the man. Mr Palmer is the Stephen Hawkings of the harley world in my humble opinion.

he is the nicest guy you'll ever meet---i told him it isn't every day you get to meet someone who wrote the bible---a very gracious host---he'll be the first to tell you his book isn't perfect and why---it is still the best resource available to the poor man

I have seen that book bring over $350.00. Fortunately Bruce still has a few that he sells on amazon.com occasionally.

I be one of those fortunate folk who received an autographed copy addressed to me. I am also proud to know the Man. Bikes are not his only great trait though. He is an all around good individual. And as spoken...a great host as well. He is the only guy I know who can rein Chris in.

I'm pretty sure it was my turn to rub him. Besides...He gets me pretty good when he tosses them back.

Bruce is the most accurate information source for Harley-Davidson restoration in his chosen fields, 1936 - 1964 big twins and 1937 - 1953 W-series. He has devoted decades to discovering and documenting restoration facts and Harley-Davidson history. I'm thankful for the friendship of this gentleman.

Somebody scribbled in my "Indian Scout" book, and I had to take it out of inventory and pay "use tax" to Illinois!

I really like the 1953 W series myself.

well...I thought about tossing a number into that auction...
but when it cleared $130-40 range...
I just had to laugh and resign myself to look for a better opportunity.

One of these days...I'll show for a flathead-owner-group rides
                          down in the sunshine state...

I have both of Bruce Palmer's books and both are autographed and addressed to me, which I consider a great honor as I am not worried about their value because they will be mine until the "Grim Reaper" wraps his hands around my throat!!!! LOL. I have had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Bruce and Debbie Palmer's home, while doing research for my own book. You will NEVER find more gracious hosts or more humble people than the Palmer's, and yes , due to circumstance, they are a team ( Paps, I know you know of where I come). Bruce allowed me free reign in his "Treasure Room " where he has file upon file of archival material about not only H-D motorcycles but military stuff in general. Just to be in the same room, seeing the Medal of Honor his great grandfather received from the Civil War will send chills down one's back, not to mention his father and grandfather who were Army Generals as well ( Ok so Bruce Broke the mold and we are better for it!!!. I am pleased, proud ,and honored to call both Bruce and Debbie my friends.

I guess being Chief Of Staff Of The United States Army and serving on the faculty of the Army War College gives him all the clout you could ask for. But then you wonder, what happened to Bruce III?
