when i was a kid i bought a '59 panhead for$100............smart
it was below 0 and he wanted $150....................smart
didn't have the money...ma did..................smart
got a different motor from local h.d. shop for $75.........smart
put bike together in barn stall of dads farm.......warm......smart
rode bike for 3 years and sold it for $850.........dumb

I feel your pain...

Most of us have similar tales of woe. My personal regrets was not buying the 1936 Knucklehead in the Milwaukee paper about 1971 for $1500--seemed like a high price at the time. Or the XA I could have gotten for $400. But I did score some $75 junker Pans, etc. Them were the days. You gotta do Jap bikes to find those deals now...
