How to darken/oxidize brass tags

How can I redarken the brass generator tags and dashboard piece made of brass. The original finish is worn away. Now that the part is clean, I'd like to get the dark finish which is not paint, but looks to be oxidation.

Any simple home remedy?

try heat & vinegar or heat & water with bleach try on different piece of brass hotter than bath water

jax works good still needs heat we use it on antique bronze statue repairs just try it on spare brass first
