Another nice California Bobber.

Now believe it or not, this is the bike the judges said was the best California Bobber.

It sure looks like a chopper and not a bobber to me.

David Jackson's black with with yellow spears&pinstriping 1954 panhead is kick ass.Too bad we don't have a picture of the left side so that we can see the air cooled fins around the springer drum brake.There are many nice features on this boober that are not shown.Notice the rare solid wheel on the rear.

So that's where all that gee-gaw stuff on ebay goes. I remember seeing a 1940 Indian Chief in a chopper magazine many years ago that looked just like the one posted here. It belonged to a guy named Micha McClausky or something. I think that Chief was even in an episode of "The Rockford Files".

Which end is which?

I kinda like the green Hydra-Glide, except that front fender on the back is too confusing. Imagine coming out of a bar after having a few and trying to determine which end is the front and which one is the back! (Of course no one around here has ever come out of a bar after having a few and then got on a motorcycle).

So that's where all that gee-gaw stuff on ebay goes. I remember seeing a 1940 Indian Chief in a chopper magazine many years ago that looked just like the one posted here. It belonged to a guy named Micha McClausky or something. I think that Chief was even in an episode of "The Rockford Files".

That is Micha's bike.

Chris, I'm almost certain Micha's Chief was in a Rockford Files episode. It was the one about a bike gang that half it's old members had gone legit and the other half was still raising hell. The Chief was relegated to background dressing but you could catch a shot of the Chief here and there. I admired Micha at the time he built that bike because it was a bold statement and so different than the twisted springer, Amen framed custom bikes that were all the rage back then. It looks like the world caught back up with Micha.
