I noticed on Buzz's site that they have a trivia section. I stumbled across this pic and thought I'd post it to see what comments it gets. I know it should be in the pre-16 section, but that thread just doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic. So fellas, what's up with this bike?????

    Hedstom Belt Drive OEM

    G'day Cory.
    Hedstrom Belt Drive.
Indian played with belts as an option for a few years pre Powerplus.
Don't have Jerry Hatfield's reference books here with me here in Canberra to give dates, but post 1910, pre 1916.
As usual, I could be wrong!

    Best wishes.

    Ken.

Yeah, I would agree: rare belt-drive Indian.

There was a short period c1909-1910 with a mild upswing in interest for belt-drive took place. I think it was because they expected great things from the vee-belt, and H-D, of course, would NEVER use a chain (they said), because belts in general were so darn superior which they hammered home time and again in advertising literature, until they switched over and added a rear chain model. Oop!

What does this Indian have? Flat-belt or vee? Looks flat. Maybe trying to snag that grumpy ex-Harley rider.
